📆 Conference Committee

Leads conference planning, registration coordination, logistics, program support, and attendee experience in alignment with board goals.

📝 Research & Education Committee

Oversees educational priorities, continuing education, course administration, certificates, research-related initiatives, and learning opportunities for members.

  • Webinars – free to members, these series occur in the spring and fall
  • Monthly Podcasts – created to supplement other BBANYS education and enhance the website education library
  • Journal Club – literature review and discussion of a hot topic in transfusion medicine and blood banking
  • Town Halls – Q & A sessions addressing current issues in the profession

    💬 Digital Communications & Marketing Committee

    Guides newsletters, website updates/design, social media, branding, member announcements, and board-approved communications priorities.

    • Website Review – coordinate with other committees to each review their own website content
    • Social Media Sites (Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Instagram) – develop and coordinate posting schedules
    • Newsletter – BBANYS Quarterly, primarily focused on technical articles, member spotlights, etc.
    • E-Blast Updates – electronic communications highlighting upcoming activities and other important news

    🤝 Sponsor / Vendor Coordination Committee

    Coordinates sponsorship opportunities, vendor solicitation, vendor relations, and sponsor engagement consistent with board direction.

    👥 Membership Services / Nominations Committee

    Supports member recruitment, retention, onboarding, engagement, Early Career Professionals (ECP), mentorship, board nominations, board candidate coordination, and voting processes.

    • Mentorship Program – assist those new to the profession by sharing your expertise
    • Early Career Professionals Program – coordinate social and networking events for early career professional residents and medical technologists to discuss career development
    • Help develop and review member benefits driving member recruitment and retention
    • Work with the Digital Communications & Marketing Committee on a social media plan for member recruitment and engagement
    • Coordinate the Barb Gonnella Fostering Future Leaders Award
